Command Permissions

Configure who can use Technified's Discord slash commands on your server. Set different permission levels for utility, moderation, and admin commands.

Accessing Permissions

  1. Select your server in the dashboard
  2. Click "Permissions" under Settings in the sidebar

Command Categories

Commands are organized into three tabs:

Utility Commands

General-purpose commands for all users:

  • Verification commands
  • Information lookup
  • Basic utilities

Moderation Commands

Commands for server moderators:

  • Ban/unban commands
  • Mute/unmute commands
  • Warning commands
  • Kick commands

Admin Commands

Commands for server administrators:

  • Configuration commands
  • Setup commands
  • Advanced management

Permission Modes

For each command, choose a permission mode:

Everyone

Any server member can use the command.

  • Best for: Verification, info commands
  • No restrictions applied

Administrators Only

Only users with Discord Administrator permission.

  • Best for: Critical commands, config changes
  • Most restrictive option

Specific Roles

Only users with certain Discord roles can use the command.

  • Best for: Moderator commands
  • User needs ANY of the selected roles

How to configure:

  1. Select "Specific Roles"
  2. Choose one or more Discord roles
  3. Save changes

Role Hierarchy

Users with this role or any role above it in Discord's hierarchy.

  • Best for: Tiered staff access
  • Uses Discord's role ordering

How to configure:

  1. Select "Role Hierarchy"
  2. Choose the minimum role
  3. Anyone with that role or higher can use the command

Managing Commands

Enabling/Disabling Commands

Toggle commands on or off:

  1. Find the command in the list
  2. Click the toggle switch
  3. Disabled commands won't appear in Discord

Setting Permissions

  1. Click on a command to edit
  2. Select the permission mode
  3. Configure role requirements (if applicable)
  4. Click "Save"

Sync with Discord

After making changes:

  1. Click "Sync Commands"
  2. Technified updates Discord's command permissions
  3. Changes take effect immediately

Each command shows its current permission:

Best Practices

Least Privilege

  • Give minimum necessary permissions
  • Not everyone needs moderation commands
  • Review permissions regularly

Role Structure

  • Have clear role hierarchy in Discord
  • Name roles clearly (Moderator, Senior Mod, Admin)
  • Use hierarchy mode for natural progression

Testing

  • Test commands after changing permissions
  • Verify the right people have access
  • Check that restrictions work correctly
