Processing Appeals

Review, decide on, and respond to punishment appeals.

Viewing Appeals

From a Specific Form

  1. Go to Appeals
  2. Click "View Appeals" on a form card
  3. See all appeals for that form

Appeal List

Each appeal shows:

Appeal Status

Pending

  • Just submitted, awaiting review
  • No action taken yet

In Review

  • Being actively reviewed
  • Moderator is investigating

Accepted

  • Appeal granted
  • Punishment will be lifted/reduced

Denied

  • Appeal rejected
  • Punishment remains

Viewing an Appeal

Click on any appeal to see full details:

Appellant Information

  • Discord account details
  • Roblox account (if verified)
  • Account information

Responses

All answers the appellant provided, displayed with:

  • Question label
  • Their response
  • Field type indicator

Timeline

History of status changes:

  • When submitted
  • Status changes with timestamps
  • Who made decisions

Processing Appeals

Mark as In Review

Show that you're investigating:

  1. Open the appeal
  2. Click "Mark In Review"
  3. Status updates to "In Review"

Accept an Appeal

Grant the appeal and lift/reduce punishment:

  1. Open the appeal
  2. Click "Accept"
  3. Optionally add a message to the appellant
  4. Confirm

What happens:

  • Appellant receives DM notification
  • If configured, punishment is automatically removed
  • Appeal is marked as accepted

Deny an Appeal

Reject the appeal:

  1. Open the appeal
  2. Click "Deny"
  3. Optionally add a reason
  4. Confirm

What happens:

  • Appellant receives DM notification
  • Punishment remains in effect
  • Appeal is marked as denied

Automatic Actions

When you accept an appeal, Technified can automatically:

  • Unban the user (if it was a ban appeal)
  • Unmute the user (if it was a mute appeal)
  • Remove warning from their record

Configure these automatic actions in your appeal form settings.

Filtering & Sorting

Filter by Status

  • All - Show everything
  • Pending - Only unprocessed
  • In Review - Currently being reviewed
  • Accepted - Granted appeals
  • Denied - Rejected appeals

Sort Options

  • Newest First - Most recent appeals first
  • Oldest First - Oldest appeals first

Search

Search for specific appellants by:

  • Discord username
  • Roblox username

Investigation Tips

Verify Claims

  • Check moderation logs for the original punishment
  • Verify dates and reasons match what they said
  • Look at their punishment history

Consider Context

  • First offense vs. repeat offender
  • Severity of the original violation
  • Time since the punishment
  • Quality and honesty of the appeal

Check Evidence

  • If they provide evidence, verify it
  • Look at screenshots/links they share
  • Cross-reference with your own records

Decision Guidelines

Consider Accepting When

  • Punishment was issued in error
  • Significant time has passed
  • Genuine understanding and remorse shown
  • First-time or minor offense
  • New evidence supports their case

Consider Denying When

  • Appeal contains false information
  • No accountability shown
  • Recent or repeated offense
  • Severe original violation
  • Lack of effort in appeal

Best Practices

Thorough Review

  • Read the entire appeal carefully
  • Check their history before deciding
  • Consult with other moderators for serious cases

Timely Processing

  • Aim to process within 3-5 days
  • Set to "In Review" when you start
  • Don't leave people waiting indefinitely

Clear Communication

  • Provide reasons for denial when possible
  • Be professional regardless of decision
  • Explain any conditions for acceptance

Consistency

  • Apply same standards to all appeals
  • Document unusual decisions
  • Review appeal patterns periodically
