Staff Roles

Configure the roles in your staff hierarchy. Staff roles determine permission levels and help organize your team.

Viewing Staff Roles

In Staff Management, scroll to the Staff Roles section to see all configured roles.

Role Information

Each role displays:

Creating a Staff Role

  1. Click "Create Role" in the Staff Roles section
  2. Fill in the role details:

Role Settings

FieldDescription
NameRole name (e.g., "Moderator")
Permission LevelNumber determining hierarchy (e.g., 1-100)
Discord RoleLink to a Discord role (optional)

Role Permissions

Select what this role can do:

  • Manage Applications - Process application submissions
  • Manage Appeals - Process appeal submissions
  • Moderate - Issue bans, mutes, warnings
  • Manage Staff - Add/remove staff, issue strikes
  • Edit Settings - Change server configuration
  • View Logs - Access audit logs
  1. Click "Create"

Editing a Staff Role

  1. Find the role in the list
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Modify settings or permissions
  4. Click "Save"

Deleting a Staff Role

  1. Find the role in the list
  2. Click "Delete"
  3. Confirm deletion

Note: Staff members with this role will need to be reassigned.

Permission Levels

Permission levels create a hierarchy:

25Moderator
50Senior Moderator
75Administrator
100Owner/Manager

Higher levels can generally manage lower levels:

  • Higher level can issue strikes to lower level
  • Higher level can modify lower level's LOA
  • etc.

Example Role Setup

Trial Moderator (Level 10)

Permissions:

  • Manage Applications
  • Moderate (limited)
  • View Logs

Moderator (Level 25)

Permissions:

  • Manage Applications
  • Manage Appeals
  • Moderate
  • View Logs

Senior Moderator (Level 50)

Permissions:

  • All Moderator permissions
  • Manage Staff (strikes, LOA, notes)

Administrator (Level 75)

Permissions:

  • All previous permissions
  • Edit Settings

Owner (Level 100)

Permissions:

  • All permissions

Linking Discord Roles

You can link staff roles to Discord roles:

  1. When creating/editing a role, select a Discord role
  2. Users with that Discord role are automatically considered that staff role
  3. Useful for automatic staff tracking

Best Practices

Clear Hierarchy

  • Use meaningful permission levels
  • Leave gaps between levels for future roles
  • Document what each role can do

Appropriate Permissions

  • Start new staff with minimal permissions
  • Grant more access as they prove themselves
  • Don't give everyone admin access

Consistent Naming

  • Use clear, recognizable names
  • Match Discord role names if linked
  • Consider abbreviations for display
